FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
Jam models and photographers will be worked from sun-up til sundown everyday of the Jam beginning August 29. UjENA Jam partners and guests will be observing, judging and assisting at the photo shoots. The best images will be submitted for judging. The photo shoots are a great way to discover new talent and also win prizes, awards, Jam scholarships and contracts to the winners.

OFFICIAL 2009 UjENA JAM PV EVENTS
1. UjENA Model of the Year Finals
Twenty models will be selected to compete in the UjENA Final Shootout Sept 5, 2009. Winning models from the UjENA Jams in Cabo and Cancun have already qualified. Other models in Puerto Vallarta (PV) will be judged on ten images taken in PV, their score from the Judged Location Shoot (a secret location TBA) and their UjENA Talent profile score. The 20 models will be photographed in the shoot by the top 10 photographers in two 20-minute sessions. After the UjENA Final Shootout, these finalists will be interviewed. The winning Ujena Model of the Year will be announced at the Image Awards Sept 6, 2009. This year's winner receives a $4000 UjENA 2009 Modeling Contract. $1000 will be paid in PV and the balance will be paid $250 per month for 12 months in 2010. (Should the winner for any reason not be able to fulfill her obligations the remaining contract will be transfered to one of the other top ten.)
2. UjENA Photographer of the Year Finals
10 photographers will be selected to compete in the UjENA Final Shootout. Winning photographers from the UjENA Jams in Cabo and Cancun will have already qualified. 3. UjENA Jam Judged Location Shoot
All competing models and photographers will be taken to a secret location. At that location, models and photographers will pair up and take images. UjENA staff photographers will work with competing models and competing photograhers will work with staff models. Each model and photographer will be scored on technique. This provides an opportunity for UjENA and partner companies to see you in action. The entry fee is included in your Jam package.
4. 4th Annual UjENA Image Awards
will be bigger than ever. UjENA and more than 35 Jam partners will be honoring their selected winners from the weeklong events. Each winner will be presented the coveted Image Award, cash, prizes, trips, contracts, Jam scholarships and gifts will be awarded. The Image Awards show will be held Sept 6, 2009. The evening will also feature a fashion show and entertainment. Free entry with your VIP Ujena Jam Pass. tickets are $50 without the VIP Ujena Jam Pass.
TALENT CASTING
5. UjENA Jam Talent and Partner Expo and Casting
The "Jam Expo" is where everyone meets and mingles. Models and photographers will be booking photo shoots, Jam partners will be doing castings, Ujena and partners will display their product and services, the Makeup For Print competition happens here, and so do the Ujena Talent Workshops. There will also be fashion shows held throughout the day and there will be an Internet Cafe. The three day show starts Sept 2 and ends Sept 4, 2009.
6. UjENA Jam Partner Casting More than 35 UjENA Partner companies will be actively casting new talent on the spot at the Expo and during the Jam. Companies will be interviewing and reviewing portfolios for upcoming magazines, catalogs and promotions.
SPECIAL WORKSHOPS
7. UjENA Talent Workshops
There will be ten informative one-hour workshops for photographers, models and anyone interested in the exciting fashion industry. Confirmed speakers include UjENA winning photograher Addison Fitzgerald, UjENAchief stylist Catherine Cross, UjENA staff model Trisha Tompkins and UjENA CEO and chief photographer Bob Anderson. There will be three workshops daily starting at 10am Sept 1 and ending Sept 3. The nine workshops are: 1. Getting the Most out of your Camera 2. On Location Makeup and Styling for Print 3. Working with the Light 4. Bikini Model Posing 5. Editing and Selecting Images for Print 6. On Location Photography 7. Editorial Style Photography 8. Getting the Most out of the Jam 9. Artistic Photography 10. TBA Free entry with your VIP Jam Pass $30 per workshop without the VIP Jam Pass or $200 for all nine workshops without the VIP Ujena Jam Pass.
JAM LIFESTYLE EVENTS
8. 4th Annual Puerto Vallarta UjENA 5k
For more than 20 years, the UjENA 5k run/walk has been part of the Jam. All models and photographers interested in being selected for the top UjENA awards are required to participate. Fitness is very important to UjENA and this event also brings everyone together. Every Jam offers something to the hosting community, and the 5k is an open event for anyone who wants to participate. $1000 in cash prizes, medals to the first 200 finishers, t-shirts for the first 300 finishers and additional prizes will be awarded. First Ujena model and photographer finisher wins an UjENA Image Award and $100 cash. All competing models will be provided a special running outfit for free. Entry fee for competing and staff models and photographers is included in the Jam package. $20 or 200 pesos entry for everyone else. For additional information: Ujena 5k
9. 3rd Annual Ujena Jam Team Competition
Teams are being put together including models, photographers, makeup artists and other participates. A team must have at least six members and be set up in advance. Last year BetCris.com (UT #26352) team won the team award. The final Image Award is given to the team who receives the most Image Awards. The winning team will also win a check for $2,500. A team entry fee of $500 must be paid before the start of the week. Each team needs a name.
10. 3rd Annual Makeup Artist For Print Competition
All makeup artists competing will gain valuable images from the models and photographers, working on their sets. The artists will work with the photographers to get the before and after shoots of the models. MUA’s must submit ten images for judging of five different models with the before and after makeup. The images will be judged and the finalists selected. The top makeup artists will join models and photographers for the judged on location Jam shoot out. They will also be the official MUA’s for The Final Night Show UjENA Image Awards, and one will be selected to receive the coveted Ujena image award, an all expenses paid exotic location shoot with the Ujena crew, and $1000 cash.
11. 4th Annual UjENA Jam Golf Tournament
August 30, 2009. The tournament will be held on one of the best courses in Puerto Vallarta. The El Tigre course is as tough as it is beautiful. This exciting event, which also includes competing bikini models on the course, just keeps getting bigger. Great prizes and one model showing the must spirit will be selected, given a special prize package and awarded the coveted Image Award. Entry fee is $100 per player and is not included in your Jam land package. Great prizes for the winning team. Starts at 9am August 30.
12. Bisbee's Off Shore Ujena Jam - 3rd Annual Ujena Fishing Tournament
Sept 3-4, 2009. A Ujena photo team (model and photographer) will be put on the boats and one model and photographer will be selected by the anglers to receive the Image Award and $1000 Jam Scholarship for Cabo (based on images taken). Angler's entry fee is $4000 per team (up to four anglers per boat) and is not included in your Jam land package. The entry fee does not include the cost of the boat and crew. Over $10,000 worth of prizes will be awarded to the team with the most points for full catch and release Marlin, largest Tuna and for the largest Dorado. 13. 3rd Annual Ujena Jam Bikini Acrobatics Championships
Sept 5, 2009. This exciting event takes place right after the Ujena 5k run. Image Award will be presented to the winner. Entry fee $25 or 250 pesos or included with your Jam package.
14. 2nd Annual Ujena 50m and 1st Annual 100m Freestyle Swim
The 50m event is open to only Jam participants (men and women). Entry fee is included in your Jam package. Prizes go to the top three female and male. Image Award to first Ujena model and photographer. The 100m event is an open event. Entry fee is $20 or 200 pesos and is not included in your Jam package. Winning female and male wins $100 cash each. Special prizes to top three male and female finishers and first three male and female over 40 years old. This event is being held at hotel starting at 10am Sunday Sept 6.
15. Ujena Fitness Body Challenge
There are two events in this year's event. The Ujena 5k run and the Ujena 50m swim. Your finishing place (based on the Jam participates) in each event will be added together to determine the overall model winner. This winner will also be awarded an Image award.
UjENA JAM OFFICIAL THEME PARTIES
The Metro Newspapers summed up the UjENA Jam parties best when they dubbed them, "The best party in Mexico." Come check them out.
16. UjENA JAM Costume Party
This has become a regular event at all UjENA Jams. Everyone gets dressed up to have fun. $500 cash prizes for the best costumes. Saturday night Sept 5.
17. Maxim en espanol UjENA Clubkini Party
This party has become a regular event at all Ujena Jams. We have teamed up with Maxim en enspanol for this party. They select up to five Maxim Clubkini Hotties at each event and feature them in an upcoming issue of Maxim. All models must wear either a Ujena clubkini or bikini top to be admitted. Friday night Sept 4.
18. 4th Annual Jam Party by the Sea
This day party in downtown Puerto Vallarta has become a real favorite. The main event is simply photo shoots. This gives everyone in town a chance to see what the UjENA Jam is all about. And of course, it offers a great location for images. Sunday August 30 afternoon.
19. Media Martini Party
This is your first chance to meet the media. Magazines, film and newspapers crews are on hand to meet our contestants. Sunday August 30.
20. Jam Networking Parties
At some of the Jam parties it just gets too noisy to network. This is why we have set up two of these parties.
